WOODCRAFT

The Woodcraft course will require students to live off the land making use of any natural and trash resources they find while recreating important kit items from found resources. This class will begin with principles of shelter construction and a debris shelter build for each student, which will be their home for the class. Additional topics such as Friction Fire, Percussion Fire, Stones, and their usage, Weather forecasting, Directional Navigation without a compass, glass knapping, cordage creation and seasonal crafts will all be explored. 

  • Class begins Friday morning at 9am sharp and will wrap up around 11am Sunday morning

  • Meals provided daily- lots of campfire cooking. If you have a special diet, please bring your own food.

Property Rules:

  • ZERO alcohol or drugs will be tolerated on the property, there are no exceptions. 

  • Early entry to the property on Thursday is not permitted. 

  • Clean up any mess that you create, police your camp area. Leave it as clean as it was when you arrived.

  • Only camp in the designated group camping area in front of the classroom (the big barn) in the field, DO NOT venture off into the woods or you will be banned from class and from coming back. 

  • Wood is first come, first served; outhouse is available, and water is available at the spigot.

  • Belt Knife of choice

  • Ax or Tomahawk (as preferred)

  • Flint & Steel in a tin

  • Two 42 or 55-gallon drum liners

  • Bushpot (Any type or size)

  • Headlamp with Spare Batteries 

  • Notebook & Pencil

  • 1 Queen Size Wool Blanket or Two Twins

  • Personal Medications

  • Anything else you desire...
